K'Sal comes up with a solution to the Sa/Am f/f scenario: From:  "smoke_perro" Date:  Sun May 25, 2003  4:21 am Subject:  Re: Sarek Fun Fest! --- In tos-up @ yahoogroups.com, Hypatia Kosh wrote: > > --- In tos-up @ yahoogroups.com, Farfalla wrote: > > Lesbian Sa/Am.... > > Whoa, how are you going to manage that? Sarek was originally a lesbian Vulcan female (under a different name). So was his priestess T'Rhea. Maybe Gol is filled with lesbian Vulcan females - it's the equivalent of the isle of Sapphos. (Makes sense to me - that way you wouldn't have to go through the whole creepy childhood marriage thing!) Since the females seem to be in control of Vulcan society, this would explain how Sarek came to be such a prominent person in Vulcan society. Sybok, of course, is T'Rhea's and Sarek's child by the process of artificial reproduction, (as the Great Bird claims Spock is). T'Rhea and Sarek grow apart. Sarek is posted to earth, and falls for Amanda. But there is a little problem - Amanda is from Texas, and advanced society or not, in Texas it is still a crime - sodomy - for two individuals of the same gender to engage in sexual relations. They probably still wear cowboy boots too. Not to worry. The Vulcans have noticed that humans, in particular, don't handle females in positions of high authority well. (Think of TOS - no female Captains, etc.) Just one more example of screaming illogic, they sigh. Sarek decides to transgender. They've got this procedure down pat, so Sarek reappears as a male and marries Amanda! Now everyone is happy. Sarek has Amanda, Amanda has Sarek, and Vulcan has an Ambassador who is taken more seriously in illogical Federation society, but is still presumably not subject to Pon Farr and therefore "reliable". It seems perfectly plausible to me, but then it is 4 AM here. K'Sal .
